Topic	I have an opportunity to do research in my second semester of college.

At the very least, it'll give you an appreciation for what goes on in the deep dark recesses of academia. The thing about research, which you should keep in mind, is that the time committment is usually much much higher than normal classwork. So you should prepare accordingly. Gotcha.
