I doubt very much any prison reform deals actually address the cash bail system or disenfranchisement from a philosophical standpoint though. I would heartily fight for a constitutional amendment to eliminate those practices, if needed. My dream amendments:

1. End cash bail/disenfranchisement of felons
2. Lock the SCOTUS seats to 9 maximum
3. Change voting and draft age to 25

1. Love this idea and yeah I feel like it should be common sense.
2. Love this idea and that is how a lot of non-American democracies do it (not 9 specifically but I do think that is a fairly good term limit otherwise you have people like RBG/Scalia on there until they are well past their intellectual prime).
3. I don't agree with this. Your argument for "full developed brains" isn't necessarily bad, but we let 85 year olds vote. We let people who think Sandy Hook was a government conspiracy vote. I think 21 is old enough to at least understand the issues if they try. There are plenty of people less acute than 21 year olds voting.
