I mean, I know there is no N in the word, but there are plenty of English words that don't follow its own phonetic rules.

There are none with a silent n followed by a vowel (except with suffixes like -ed).

And in words with the mn where the n is silent, it becomes pronounced in different forms of the word. For instance, "damnable".


Who pronounces the N in damnable?
