I don't get this idea that someone's abhorrent views should affect their entire cultural perception. Like, if there's a statue of a guy and it turns out the guy raped and murdered a bunch of people in the 1700s, sure, take down that statue. But if a person committed acts that were the cultural norm or held views that might have been culturally normal, who cares? Those actions and views should not be held in high regard, but we also do not have to scrub them from literally everything. This is especially true in a society where people buy and sell Hitler's book.

No it's not. Most people in history had abhorrent giews to today's standards. If we do what you want we would wipe clean 90% of human history and culture
