Because statements like "President Donald Trump may soon be communicating with you directly on your phone even if you don't follow him on Twitter" to describe the national emergency alert system could lead to drastic measures to prevent potentially life-saving alerts. This isn't some fucking mass tweet system, this is the system that tells you when we're being bombed. This system is already in place, just it only takes over radio and television at the moment to distribute the warnings rather than going to phone carriers. --- "That is why war is so tragic.
