I'm talking to this girl in my math class, and I can't think of anything else to talk about other than school, homework, and the class we're in. She does respond to me when I try to talk to her about this sort of stuff, and sometimes she even asks me stuff too. But I feel like I shouldn't be talking about school all the time, because that'd get old really bloody fast, and such. On the other hand, that's the only subject of conversation that I am well-versed in, so I can't really talk about anything else properly. I'm afraid to ask about other stuff, like what she does for fun, because I'm afraid that I won't really care, and will be forced to act like I do so that she doesn't feel bad about having divulged personal information about herself to someone who genuinely cannot give a damn about people with whom he does not empathize. Should I talk about something else, not directly related to her, or something? If I do, I wouldn't know what to talk about, if it's not school. Anyway, what do I do?

I must have these answers.

There are tons of things in your books... History, literature, english essays, math situation problems, fish.... there are tons of things you can stretch out from these and relate to them in your own life.... do you own a fish or have you eaten a weird fish dish? Was there ever a time your cousin tried to divide his M&Ms equally but cheated you out of two, or did you ever see a cake that looks like a pyramid that was subjected to gravity? Did you ever go see a play at a theatre, or know someone who got robbed? Did you know Louis the XIV wore red high heels and made them popular, or did you ever feel you were part of the Spartan war? Did she ever think she had a previous life and imagine how it must have been like if she was Cleopatra?

Relate to the plethora of content in your classes, remember stuff, imagine stuff, ask her stuff.

Dude, it's a conversation. There will always be things either of you will be interested in or not interested in. You won't know till you talk.
