Which is why you talk to them too

If they throw it away then they throw it away. The factory farm industry is massive, change takes time.

People still won't don't give a shit. If anything they'd be more annoyed by somebody stopping them to waste their time.

If I don't care about what someone has to say, they sure as shit aren't going to win me over by being destructive, obstructionist assholes. If anything, all they'd really be doing is encouraging me to do the exact opposite of what they want just to spite them, because they're clearly a piece of shit and deserve to be disappointed.

If you disagree with someone's policies or world-view and want to change them, your goal basically NEEDS to be influencing opinions to win those people over, not completely alienating people who might otherwise have been on your side. Because otherwise all you're really doing is just ego-masturbation.

No, trying to convince people who don't care to give you a chance and listen to what you have to say isn't easy. But few things that are worth doing are. And if you actually care about your cause, rather than the kewl rush you get from pretending that you actually matter in some way (see also, 99% of Internet activism, and the mindset of a LOT of "guerilla protestors" of all ideologies), then you should be willing to put in the effort to overcome that apathy, and win people over effectively.
