I dont get why anyone would live in Louisiana when Texas is right next door and has EVERYTHING Louisiana has to offer.

Texas ain't all that and it hardly has everything Louisiana has to offer.
what's so great about Louisiana that you can't find in texas?

Food, culture, cajun music, fluent cajun french speakers, historical sites specific to Louisiana that are interesting to see, festivals.

Minus the historical sites we have all of that in southeast Texas. Most people in this area of Texas trace their lineage back to southern Louisiana, myself included. We're Texan by birth but culturally SE Texas is basically southern Lousiana minus the Frenchy accent. My grandfather was a fluent Louisiana creole speaker, actually that was his primary language when he left Lake Charles, LA back in the day.
