That's not how they work. They don't just go off.


Yeah, this. It would very likely destroy the other nukes beyond reasonable repair, but that's it. At worst, it'd set off the non-nuclear explosive components, which would add something like 0.000000001% to the total power of the blast.

I mean, maybe primitive nukes like you might find in North Korea might get set off (though likely only with a fraction of their full power, and even their full power would be virtually negligable compared to 50MT), but no chance of a US or Russian weapon that anywhere NEAR resembles "modern" doing so.

No, it couldn't. You'd need FAR bigger than 50MT for that, if it's even possible at all (which it likely isn't - the most likely mechanism for nukes to wipe out life, other than by using so many or such a powerful one that the blast(s) kill everything right away, is from the long-lasting fallout; which this hypothetical nuke does not have).
