She was charged with engaging in "sexual contact with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of the alleged victim". Police didn't find evidence of her and the student having sexual encounters on his phone but that may have changed since... She was suspended at Lockhart High School in Texas and if found guilty faces 20 years in the slammer. If her change of plea is accepted, she would serve 4 years deferred adjudication, surrender her teaching license and pay a fine. This would mean she would only get probation and will then not have a conviction on her record. The judge said he could take 2 months to consider her guilty plea and should he decline, then she would withdraw her plea. She made headlines after sporting an ear to ear smile in her mugshot but claims it was because she knew she was innocent at the time. The change of plea might be because the prosecutor has strong evidence against her after the "trauma" she put the student and what they found on his phone. Back then she said she would NEVER cheat on her husband and the allegations were "made up" after a student busted their secret affair.
