Since people can always be tied to several different cultural groups, and since their is nothing genetically inherent about the experience of a group in the world, and since she isn't visibly First Nations/Native American she can't even claim to understand what they are going through.

The point is that those DNA tests are fucking pointless, anyway, because not only do they mean nothing about your experience in the real world, but they also mean very little about your capabilities. Saying, "I'm 1/64th Cherokee" is basically the equivalent of saying, "It's okay, I have a black best friend!".


Or she simply acknowedged she has an ancestor in her past who was native american and one side of her family was treated poorly because of that. She isnt claiming to be immersed in native culture
