Oh sorry the first costume change is after the defeat of the pope because they use the blood of gold saints to repair the cloth and that changes their shape. They get another change later when they use ~~Athena's blood~~ to repair the cloths, and then they get God Cloths. Saint Seiya's popularity in South America and Brazil is astronomically high (It's like DBZ is here) and they went back and rehired all the original voice actors (except for I think 2 of them died) and it was a huge nostalgia draw.
