Spending $2 on a single ticket for the entertainment value given a historically high jackpot is hardly the worst somebody could do. It's a short, fun craze for people to distract us from our lives. A tiny bit of workplace excitement when people form pools. Most people, except for the habitual purchasers, know they aren't going to win. That's not the point. But whatever.
