Spending $2 on a single ticket for the entertainment value given a historically high jackpot is hardly the worst somebody could do. It's a short, fun craze for people to distract us from our lives. A tiny bit of workplace excitement when people form pools. Most people, except for the habitual purchasers, know they aren't going to win. That's not the point.

But whatever. I guess a gas station clerk has to feel superior to others somehow.

Former gas station clerk, thankfully I left that nightmare of a job for something far better paying that doesn't make me want to kill myself
