Places are always worse when you hear about them then when you're there.

For instance I hear so much about Chicago. Been living here my whole life and it's been fine. Bad things happen everywhere you just gotta be mindful of yourself.

Which part of Chicago? I mean, northern Chicago is one of the nicest places you can live in America for the most part, and even some of the more infamous southside areas are probably overhyped/fine during the daytime, but I can't imagine living comfortably in areas like Austin/Garfield Park/80's-90's Cabrini Green.
