IIRC, the explanation from the "original timeline" (meaning I have no idea if SCVI retconned this with its "new timeline") was that Mi-na was trained by a guy who came from the same temple where Kilik learned to fight, so she has a similar style to that temple. SCVI spoilers ~~She's trained by Xianghya's dad, who also trained at Kilik's temple.
