this sounds fucked up to think about, and i know it's not legally sound because innocent until proven guilty but i wonder if we would have less active shooters if surrender was not an option from the outset.

of course this is hypothetical because i don't believe in the death penalty.

If surrender wasnt an option, then more innocents would die.

probably likely in most cases, either that or more instant regrets that lead to immediate suicides because there is no surrender option.

if you told me something was a death sentence i would be less likely to go into it, but then again i am sane so that might not be applicable to insane people that do this.
