Completely, blatantly, undeniably racist. From a cynical mind.
I haven't been able to watch it yet. What, specifically, is racist?
It's less than a minute, it won't take long. But it's doing exactly what Willie Horton did. Racist fear mongering, blaming opponents for being "soft" on minority crime, tying them to murders. It's trying to scare people with images of scary brown people, using loaded phrases like they're killing our people, etc.
I doubt you'll agree that it's racist, but it's more egregious than Willie Horton was for sure.
So I got to watch it, and wow, I don't see how that's racist at all. Color of skin has nothing to do with it. It's images of people behaving violently, an example of our failed laws which didn't protect officers, and someone who is a part of the caravan wanted for attempted murder.
Sure, there are good people in that caravan. But if you look at the situation from a holistic perspective, there are some bad hombres mixed in that aren't properly getting vetted. Catch and release, releasing back onto American streets even after arrested for crimes (besides being illegal), etc. No good.
The ad is a blatant lie.
How so?
And why is it that so many people on CE literally want this caravan to enter the U.S, knowing full well that there are violent people in the mix.
I haven't seen much from the left on this board, or anywhere else, that indicates they want to detain individuals and figure out who they are. The left doesn't want anyone detained. They want them to be let in.
What are your personal thoughts? Should these people be detained at our border? All of them? Some of them? If so, for how long of time? It's hard to figure out everyone's history and motives ---
