| hockeybub89 11/02/18 3:39:12 PM #45: | Bad things obviously happen without religion, but I think it's disingenuous to say you could just replace religion with anything and nothing would change. There are obviously problems that are a direct result of fundamental or radicalized religious beliefs. Middle East nations got a lot worse when Islam became the government. Israel and Palestine would not be fighting like this if they didn't believe they were both entitled to some ancient holy land according to their religion. Fights (physical and political) around the world to keep societies conservative or regressive are largely influenced by hardcore religious beliefs. The existence of school shooters or Nazis or North Korea only proves there are non-religious problems in the world, not that religion is scapegoat.
