People have done that. Also, some cats actually don't like to be outside. And some will go outside, but like to come back in. And just because they can take care of themselves doesn't mean things won't happen to them. Sometimes, people just do their best to hurt or kill animals. Shooting them can hurt pretty bad. And they still get run over sometimes. And wild or domesticated animals can still kill them. I'm not saying to have to domesticate all cats, nor do I think we should catch them all(Stray cats are fine). But I don't see the problem with domesticated them or keeping them inside. Especially when the weather gets bad...
