New mode in Smash Bros has these spirits of other characters that had their bodies obliterated that possess statues of other characters who did not have their bodies obliterated (the fighters) to be evil versions of the characters. Kirby is the only one who escaped because Sakurai. If they're just sticking animations onto wireframes, I get why they didn't do it with Kirby. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have joints beyond the shoulder and hip. No there's no wireframes. Basically every character has a "Dark Link" skin.
