28. Shannon Elizabeth (Celebrity Big Brother 1, 9th Place)

Had she lasted longer in the season, Shannon had the potential to be the kind of obnoxiously dominant player Id HATE (although if she got super paranoid like fellow NBC Heads-Up Poker Tournament Semi-Finalist Vanessa Rousso, its possible she couldve been enjoyable in her dominance.) Well never know though, because Shannon wound up the third boot of Celebrity Big Brother, and had quite an amazing story arc in that short period of time.

For starters, Shannon quickly formed an all-female alliance when the initial cast contained six women and five men. But then when Omarosa sat out of the HoH competition and the other four women dropped from said comp, that meant Shannon had to stick her neck out to save the girls. And she did. Shannon won the first HoH. This didnt matter, since Keshia got the twist that allowed her to take over Shannons HoH reign, but still, a female won and the girls got Chuck and James on the block. It shouldve been a simple week to take out a physical threat in James, and keep the womens alliance secure.

Yeah, about thatShannon was a paranoid mess. She won HoH and won veto, opting not to use it while putting a massive comp beast target on her back. And then when Omarosa/Keshia tried working with Chuck, Shannon got paranoid and spent like, 24 hours running around the house and flipping the vote through sheer force of well. It was extremely unnecessary, and was a classic example of the moves for moves sake style of gameplay that I hate.

However, immediately after Chucks eviction, rather than go after obvious outsiders in Keshia and Omarosa, Ross decided that Shannon was too big of a threat and needed to go. Yeah, you live by the unnecessary big move? You die by the unnecessary big move, Shannon. However, Keshias breast feeding meltdown spared Shannon, and the wannabe mastermind survived round two without even really being aware of her shaky position in the game.

Round three thoughthat was a complete mess. Ariadna won HoH and rather than go for a backdoor, she just straight-up put Shannon and James on the block together. And Shannon spent the rest of the week melting the fuck down and hating life and especially hating every person in the house that ruined her Big Brother experience. I LOVED it, because not only was it karma for Chuck, but it also turned her into a likable underdog against Ross and his mastermind bullshit. Sure, Shannon got evicted unanimously, but at least she got the last word. She led the charge to deny Ross validation by pushing the jury to vote for Marissa out of sheer force of will. And I LOVED it. That level of bitterness after only a couple weeks was wonderful to watch, and THAT is how you do a mastermind with personality, Big Brother. Take fucking notes.
