70. Tyler Crispen (Big Brother 20, 2nd Place)

Yeah, Im happy that he got hit with a bitter jury. Tyler seems like a perfectly nice and rational guy, but he is the absolute WORST kind of player for making an entertaining season of reality television (I say, having already ranked three other BB20 cast members lower than Tyler.) I have a lot of almost-disjointed thoughts with regards to Tyler, so Im gonna try to keep this write-up semi-coherent, but that might prove difficult. Basically, Im gonna be rattling off a bunch of reasons why Tyler annoyed me, and sometimes they will coalesce into a larger picture.

First things first, I hate the fact that Tyler was head and shoulders the star of the season. This isnt like Survivor, where a whole season is filmed and the editors can craft a narrative and sometimes choose to focus on one character over another. No, Tyler was literally the star of an ONGOING season from week fucking one, and even if he was interesting, his shtick got old by the end of the first month. Yes, he had a ton of power and control in the house, but there were fifteen other people playing the game. The editors could afford to tell a better story.

Tyler finished the season with 303 Diary Rooms. The ONLY person who he did not have at least DOUBLE the Diary Rooms of was HALEIGH, who finished with 190, still a full 113 Diary Rooms shorter than Tyler. And for as much as I bash Brett for being fake, at least I can UNDERSTAND people liking his Diary Room sessions; hes loud and brash and could be considered funny by other people. Tyler thoughhe was just so straight-forward almost every time we heard him talk, and he had this mellow surfer affect to his voice. It doesnt help that FAR too much of his Diary Room content was him talking about playing both sides, or having a one-sided conversation where he sarcastically tells members of FOUTTE that sure Im on your side before revealing to the audience Im not actually on their side. #chocker.

Additionally, somebody posted an edgic chart for the season and Tylers edgic is just a long bar of toneless CPs with a few mixed-tone CPs towards the endgame. Thats awful. Like, Kaycee or Angela had awful edgic too, with LONG stretches of irrelevance, but Ill take irrelevance over the player getting pushed all season long as the main character. Jack Shepard was the main character of LOST, but he sure as shit wasnt one of the best, because he was just such a flat personality, with occasional bursts of intense shouting. Thats how I feel about Tyler. Hes the Jack Shepard of Big Brother 20.
