Its always been normal its only in the last 100 years that its been frowned upon.

Just like slavery and beating women.

Slavery was more like 300 years ago, and beating women was always considered bad by everyone except the religious

What? You either don't know history that well or your math skills are piss poor. Slavery existed in the US as recently as 150 years ago. The US Civil War took place from 1861-1865. That was the war that ended slavery in the US.

Women were also definitely treated as property of men too. Women didn't even get the right to vote until 1920. That was less than 100 years ago... Have you ever seen the TV series Mad Men? It's a fairly accurate portrayal of life in the 1960s, and women were treated poorly even that recently.

In all honesty, unless you were a heterosexual white man, life pretty much sucked for you before the mid-late 1900s.

Not true. Most women enjoy being treated like slaves. I've learned this from porn.
