I just happen to know where a lot of my favorite movies tend to fall because they are pretty representational of what I like in any medium - rapid-fire dialogue, multiple threads of plot, great scores. Then you have certain beats of plot that resonate super-well with me. I think a prime example would be characters who do their jobs extremely well and yet have little to no immediate understanding of how to function outside of their careers. I love stories that feature that sort of dichotomy between competence and cleverness and a lack of experience and wisdom. It just happens that those types of movies never fall into, say, animation. That's of course not to say that I don't love a lot of animated movies, but you'll never see a high 90s score from me on those movies.
