Proto Man wasn't far below Ness back in 2010. His result against Ike in 2013 was almost exactly what the stats predicted. Ness and Ike have had several contests so far where they performed very similarly. Phoenix Wright beat Marth cleanly and went even with Ike, and Marth has had good results too.
