i don't believe in some monotheistic idea of god.

with the most "constructed" view of consciousness everything is just recycled energy and we might be recycled back into the universe in some way that is not detectable by current scientific advancements. in this constructed view people may retain a level of consciousness post death and can be reincarnated.

with the least "constructed" view of consciousness everything is just recycled energy and we won't be recycled back into the universe in any meaningful continuous way that could resemble a continuation of consciousness.

it took a while to realize that the second view requires a level of faith (belief without evidence) so i can't subscribe to either. the second view is often touted as honorable/modern/western in that it reflects our current scientific understanding, but drawing a conclusion on it based on this understanding is obviously limited and requires some faith that our understanding will not change in the future.
