However yes all of the characters were "male" and some wondered what was the point of having female Transformers and how could you explain it. Well by the second season of the cartoon they went for it and introduced a team of female Autobots. Arcee would later debut in the movie, and the previous ones never heard from again. When they added the Quintesson origin story at the start of Season 3 it was revealed the robots were manufactured for consumer goods and military hardware. Female robots were probably sold as servants and while not mentioned because it's for kids, maybe some were sex bots? Who knows. There were no female Decepticons though. Blackarachnia from Beast Wars was the first evil female, but she was a Maximal protoform. Gobots on the other hand had many female robots, but their backstory revealed they were all once humanoid and transfered their brains into robot bodies, so it made more sense there. --- ...
