Maybe. If you are going to inherit it. But it also depends on other things. Like if your job is close enough to commute everyday. Or if you are going to start a family or get married soon. Maybe you were with someone, but now you split. But you don't want to get rid of the house that is mostly paid for. There are benefits to staying home. But there are benefits to moving out. You do get more privacy. Some may think it's weird to have relations with parents in the house. Or, while living in the house your parents own...

And if you're living with your folks, you're almost certainly going to be getting a lot of fringe benefits whether it's some free meals, access to services you aren't expected to chip in on, etc. After all, if it wasn't strictly a better deal than living on your own or with roommates, you would just live on your own or with roommates.

Depends. I mean, you may get some free meals. Or maybe you all just chip in an amount and go shopping together. If it's the latter, then I wouldn't count eating whatever against them. Even with roommates, you can get free meals. When I had a roommates, we would eat take turns making dinner and such for each other sometimes.

You may have some services for free, but you may chip in on everything. It could still be a better deal than living with roommate, since sometimes services give out discounts to long term customers. So, it could be cheaper splitting bills with you parents because on you own, or with a roommate, you might still have to pay more.

But it could also be because you're lonely. Maybe you don't want to live alone. And maybe you don't want to live with strangers. There's that, too...
