I've had my bottom 2 removed and it was absolutely fine.

Local anaesthetic so no nausea or anything, a slight ache for a few days but nothing too serious. My girlfriend also had hers removed and hers took a little longer than mine did for the wound to heal maybe a week or two but still nothing too bad other than inconvenience and a little soreness. There was a minor complication with mine where the bone on the inside of my jaw was broken during the operation but again this isn't all that rare and it didn't cause me any excess pain or major discomfort and no long term complications.

Maybe it's different with the top ones or maybe the dentistry in UK is better. I mean they have way more practise than everywhere else so it's not that unlikely, but I didn't have any major issues I wouldn't be too worried.
