This is a good thing. It would be tragic if the judge sent this guy away for ages. Sure, the guy's actions were abhorrent, but he realizes that now, and it sounds like he has matured since then. No one benefits from locking him away for ages.

How so? Is it just because I don't believe in excessive punishments when a crime is committed?
Because joking about whoever is currently president/whatever leader of X country and memeing about his fanatical followers is one thing, but taking that gimmick to something actually outright offensive about someone who was raped and left for dead just makes you an actual awful human being.
I've made comments like this since before I was a Trump supporter. We're on the same page about the guy having committed a terrible act, but we clearly won't see eye to eye on how the situation should be resolved.
Tbf, this dude actually is pretty consistent in arguing for extremely light sentences in the face of heinous crimes. He's been doing it for years. ---
