| Topic | Should next gen consoles be fully backwards compatible? |
| DrCidd 11/23/18 4:13:15 PM #4: | LinkPizza posted... For Sony or Microsoft, it would be possible. But it would be hard for Nintendo. With multiple discs & disc sizes (GameCube, Wii, and Wii U) and different types of cartridges (NES, SNES, N64, and Switch [though its more of a card], it would probably by a huge system and probably would cost a lot. For the other two, they are use disc, they could probably make a few slots. It would probably still be bigger, but still. Thats if they even have to use different disc slots. But it should only have to go back 1, maybe 2, tbh. More is really nice, but it doesnt really have to go back that far. Yeah, well, as far back as discs go, as far as nintendo is concerned. Disc size isn't really that big a deal, seeing as how you can play gamecube games on the wii. The only way that would cause issue is if the discs were LARGER than normal. Because then data would likely be outside the readable area of the lens. --- I used to think my brain was my favorite part of my body...Then I realized what was making me think that! ...
