Yeah, I've been a fan since the beginning. I read the first few books a year ago, and loved it. My mom is a huge fan of the books, too. The show actually is an incredibly faithful adaptation.

Me and my wife just started season 3 and it's good so far. Far darker than the last two seasons, as far as I can tell, but it has been good.

Ah nice. I didn't know it was based on books. Might have to check them out.

Yeah I'm in the middle/near the end I think and it's pretty great so far. Can't wait to see how they conclude this season.

Yeah, the series is still going. I think my mom said the latest one has Uhtred at about ... 60ish. There is like 8 or 9 books now.

I also love all the historical battles/content they include. It should be expected, though, since the author (Bernard Cornwall) also wrote the Sharpe's series and a bunch of other long running historical fiction series.

Oh dang. So he gets to live pretty old! I wonder if the show would continue long enough for that. Maybe a time skip or something.

I think there is a couple time skips in the book, but it's more like "check in with Uhtred every five years" sort of thing. Technically, season 2-3 already had a timeskip of around 5 years, since he already has two children with Gisela.
