This could be avoided if this match is still close later on and rallies kick in for either character. The lowest vote totals of the contest with a 7:00 PM EST starting time was the Red/Alucard match which finished at 28236 votes. At 8:00 AM, that match had 19782 votes. In today's matches, we have 18636 and 18640 votes at the same point in time. So we're already around 1200 votes behind Red/Alucard. This puts us on a pace for less than 27000 votes. There are two factors affecting our poor vote totals - Link/Ganondorf is an SFF match, which generally suffer from reduced vote totals. Then you throw in the fact that the casuals were surprised by the return of the contest after the 6 day break. The fact that we're on track for less than 27000 votes is pretty bad given that this is a weekday match. At least Red/Alucard had the excuse of being on a Saturday. Based on research I did, Saturdays have the lowest average vote totals out of all the days of the week.
