He grew up in the US, got a degree, got a job. Legal resident. He also got a conviction for assault on his brother-in-law. Served three years. In 2017 he was part of a sweep by ICE looking to accelerate deportations. He hasn't lived in Iraq for decades. He barely speaks Arabic. No one in Iraq trusts him. He struggles to find work.
