My original complaint was the story intentionally obfuscated facts to make the guy seem like more of a victim than he was, not that it was the fairest of punishments. While you're trying to make immigration officials out to be bond villains you should at least find better examples than a guy who tried to murder his in law. And my counter complaint is that you're focusing less on the fact that he served his time and was trying to better himself, and more on the fact that he committed a crime and using that as justification for his deportation. It's not like I glossed over the crime. It's right there in my first post. You've decided that the crime he committed is the most important aspect of this story. Under US law, this man served his time. Suggesting he deserves additional punishment well after the fact because he was born in another country is not something I cotton to.
