Probably a good bar near you. Around Aliso Village So you got downtown and the San Gabriel Valley (Pasadena) etc. nearby. Lots of new places downtown - the area near Staples Center is like a version of Times Square. Old Town Pasadena can be fun - the Dodgers hang out in Old Town after games. Hollywood is a bit of a hike but doable Sunset, Hollywood & Highland. The beaches and South Bay would be kind of far. Whatever you do don't try to see everything in one trip. You can't. Focus on a few areas and enjoy yourself.
