28. Rachel Swindler (Big Brother 20, 12th Place)

Of Level 6, Rachel was really the only one who was thoroughly good as a character by the time she got evicted. And even then, she spent the first four weeks as so much of a background character that she got the crap app to have Bretts grandmother yell at her for 24 hours. But she managed to elevate herself to stardom with a virtuoso performance in that final week of her game. She took the position Winston found himself in, and while he was slightly paranoid, he was still relatively calm and rationalRachel did not do that. And it made her all the better as a character.

SoBayleigh wins HoH and wants to put Rachel up as a pawn. Rachel is nervous about this, and understandably so, because she knows what happened to the pawn when Winston was put up against Brett. But at least she manages to guilt Bayleigh into telling her about her power app, right? AND Bayleigh trusts her enough to reveal that she thinks Tyler is trying to turn against Angela. This is Rachels downfall, unfortunately. Shes paranoid, shes nervous, and shes worried that Tyler is playing her, so she tells Angela what Bayleigh told her. And despite the fact that Rachel has been reliable up until that point, suddenly she becomes public enemy number one for Level 6, because Tyler is a dick and Angela is a bitch.

For the rest of the week, Rachels paranoid ass is stuck on the block, unaware that shes going home over Brett until Julie calls her name. And she just strides out of the house in the second-best exist I can recall (the first being Cody stomping over the table and marching out without saying anything to anyone). Shes so shellshocked that Julie had to pretty much drag answers out of her during the post-eviction interview, and everything culminates in her having a near-breakdown when she realizes that the people she trusted the most were the ones who stabbed her in the back. Oh yeah, and What the fuck is wrong with Angela? after that awful goodbye message.

That one week was more entertaining than anything the entire rest of Level 6 did all season long, and it made me wish we got more of Rachel, if only to spice up a bland alliance.
