The symbols and spoken words we use to identify amounts are inventions, but numbers are not an invention in and of themselves. Time is not an invention, even though the concept of time didn't exist until humans made it up. Still doesn't mean we invented time. Only the method we use with which to measure it. And I know we say "cavemen invented fire" but that's not really true. That's implying that fire didn't exist until mankind found a way to create it. --- I used to think my brain was my favorite part of my body...Then I realized what was making me think that! ...
