I mean, the graphics are amazing for the release years of the games, and although gameplay matters more, graphics still count for a lot. In general, the gloss of the series is very impressive, with multi-tiered environments, and lots of flashy moves. Having said that, the moves are a bit too...mundane. It's not like Street Fighter, where you have projectiles and OTT moves, and more like Virtua Fighter, with kicks, punches and throws. There are too many moves to learn for each character, versus how different and useful they are. Also, there doesn't seem to be much good stuff to unlock. DOS 4 has 12 characters, and I'm pretty sure they were all unlocked at the beginning. What kind of fighting game does that? Sound is good, although not really memorable, like in a platform game or something. I'm glad I've played the DOA series, but it never really seems to fire on all cylinders, which is a shame. --- It has been 0 days since something interesting happened.
