I watch a bunch of Melee but I never really paid attention to the advanced stuff. I've seen "tilt" and "smash" a lot online, and the difference seems to be that you are just pressing the button for a tilt and holding the button for a smash, is that correct? This might be a dumb question, but the "button" that is being referred to here is the basic attack button (A), right? Attacks with (B) are specials? What are the control stick attacks called? Are there specific situations where I should be using tilts or smashes, assuming it's a different version of the same attack? Is spamming special attacks ever a good idea, or should I be mostly using basic attacks? This is all for the purpose of fighting other people, not the CPU.
