Then why the hell are they paying for food at school if they can't afford it?

Because everybody wants a free lunch.

Why, do foreign students not eat lunch at school? >_>

It's not common in Canada AFAIK, certainly none of the schools I been to.

I seem to recall eating lunch at school back when I still lived in Canada, but that was ages ago. Why, do Canadians leave school to go home to eat or something?

Personally, I think that the schools being so underfunded they can't even afford to feed their own fucking children is a much bigger deal than whether or not the parents can pay it. They already pay their taxes, they're just not being utilized for the children and their educations.

lolwut? Do you think that the children belong to the school rather than the parents? That's some pretty scary statist shit right there. As for taxes, not only are they *already* subsidizing school lunches (how else would they be offering them that cheaply?), but schools are also the largest local tax expenditure in addition to also collecting from the state and federal government. What's the second-largest, you ask? Welfare. (Although the two are sometimes reversed.)

The school lunch program is generally a convenience. Even more absurdly, there are countless students who get it free on the basis of low income *despite* those same students already receiving other food welfare benefits (granted, those are their only guaranteed meals each day, since their SNAP/EBT benefits are often being misused by their parents). Taxpayers are paying MULTIPLE times to feed other peoples' kids.

Other than that, you had greedy unions (which protect terrible teachers and stygmie education), overpaid administrators, etc, siphoning money that should go to teaching students.... and, of course, you have money being spent on school lunches which could be used to teach students.

It's apart of the necessary things for school. Having a good lunch in the middle. The parents already pay their taxes. I don't care if it's been done anywhere else, that has absolutely nothing to do with a single iota of what I said.

...it's like going to McDonald's, paying for a large fry and demanding a burger to go with it because you paid your bill. Shit don't work that way.
