I've heard this theory but I have a hard time thinking Smash would boost one or two characters to the sky while ignoring the rest who are also on Smash. It sounds too random. Comparing Samus's role in Smash to Snake's in any release that isn't Smash Bros Brawl, is laughable. It's absolutely likely that Samus gets a bigger boost than Snake who is sorta just happy to be there at this point. You mean because she doesn't have to be unlocked? Does seeing Samus in a character screen really make ~7% of the site turn their opinions on her around? Yes Again Snake boosted from being an embarrassment to the n9 to BEATING SEPHIROTH based on a TRAILER But that was him suddenly becomeing part of a fanbase he wasn't part of before.
