I mean, enemy or ally, it's probably a bad idea to collude with a foreign power. Even allies likely consider their own interests more important than yours. If anything, colluding with the enemy is probably indirectly safer, because you're going to constantly be watching out for any dodgy business - something that likely wouldn't be given as much consideration when it's an ally.
Russia didn't want Hillary to win because they knew they'd lose a war against the US. Russia cared more about Americans that Hillary did. I got the feeling Hillary just wanted to start WW3 to kill off all the Bernie supporters.
