Im not sure how even the biggest Link fanboys can look at his performance and be like yeah knowing who is going to win before the contest even starts is much more entertaining. Selfish. The notion of a popularity contest with the most popular characters removed is such a silly idea. We know Link wins. He's the most popular. It's established. It's over. He's #1. It's just a lot more fun for everyone fighting for #2 to not have to get taken out earlier by facing him. It's a wasted space. The final battle can be just Link vs the winner.
