Villains would be an even worse contest today than it was in 2005 because it just feels like the site doesn't seem to like villains as much as they used to (see Sephiroth getting weaker the past few years). A Female character contest doesn't seem to be as terrible now because the site seems to be more comfortable with female characters in their video games.
