If you look at a bunch of the matches, you can see large gaps between updates (like 7 hours in Magus/Ganondorf), which is when no one was recording updates on the update topic on Board 8. I do rather miss the update topics - and I think their decline is a big reason we started getting so many more posts in the stats topic in 2004/5.
