Honestly, it looked really linear and I can't imagine the writing is anywhere near the quality of other storytelling mediums, so it just never really interested me. you're never railroaded into going anywhere, really. you can do the story at your own pace and there are a ton of sidequests. it's an open world. also ive never seen better writing in a video game. It's not quite open world. You get more optional places to go through as the main plot progresses. But I don't consider that a bad thing.
