Another fun fact

According to research by psychology professor Mike Aamodt at Radford University in Virginia, there were likely about 30 active serial killers operating in the United States as of 2015.

That seems quite low to me.

Maybe, but I could see how the number would be lower than the overall number per year on average going back into the 80s/70s though. With advances in technology I think people are less likely to become serial killers than they have been in the past.

Mass shooters are the new serial killers

i do find the rise of mass shooting the last 20 years interesting. However they really arent the same as serial killers.

They both feel marginalized by society and end up doing something drastic and horrible in order to make others feel the same way that they did. Its the natural evolution of serial killing because you can hurt more targets and also get massive media coverage thanks to social media and the 24/7 tv networks like CNN. I dont even want to imagine what will take the place of mass shootings
