I appreciate the thoughtful reply. Speaking for myself, I probably can come across as seeming like Im saying what about white people in conversations similar to this. The reason isnt because I am even remotely interested in taking a vacation from X race, but because I dont think diversity works when there is also diversity in standards. And its hard to point that out without referencing how bad a white version of the OP would look.

Its interesting how a lot of white and black people feel like its their side that is always shut down from having conversations about race. Im not sure how that disconnect ever changes.
